Leaving lockdown for a new normal with CBD
The past few months have been a very difficult time for everyone. Whether it’s been a direct battle with COVID-19, personal loss, or lockdown itself, it’s important to emphasise that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Coronavirus has had a dramatic toll on communities across the entire globe, but together we can move forward into a new normal.
Moving back into society after such an extended lockdown can seem intimidating, which is why we’re here to provide you with the right tools to make that slow adjustment naturally. Whether that’s explaining how best to defend yourself against the ongoing risk of coronavirus, how to deal with the mental shift of getting back into the world, or the best CBD product for you, we’ve got the answers you need.
Safe health practices under COVID-19
At Vitality CBD we’ve been making sure we support one another as a team throughout this whole process. A big part of that has been doing a heavy amount of dedicated research into the best methods to keep ourselves and our consumers safe. That’s where our partnership with PPE Solution, a trusted PPE store, came about—we always want your CBD products to arrive with you safely, and securely.
As restrictions begin to lift, we want to provide our assurance that those practices will continue to stay firmly in place. All of our team wear protective gear when in the office, all surfaces are regularly sanitised and social distancing is followed at all times. Just because lockdown is lifting, doesn’t mean we should take health and safety any less seriously.
Our advice for entering the world, whether the workplace or just to shop and eat, is based on best practices as outlined by key healthcare organisations. The main priority is being conscientious, and not taking government advice as gospel. If possible, still keep 2 metres apart from people when in public, and if you’re planning on going shopping or into an office then wear some form of personal protective equipment. Your best option for protecting yourself and others is a respirator mask, though any face covering is better than nothing.
Mental health and the end of lockdown
At this point everyone is quite clear on best practices for handling the spread of COVID-19: protective face masks, washing your hands, and keeping your distance when possible. What hasn’t been discussed as much are the mental health ramifications of having been locked inside for a third of the year so far, and the potential difficulties of adjusting back to everyday life.
That’s why we’ve drawn on advice from several mental health care professionals to put together five key tips for navigating the next few months. This is going to be a difficult time for everyone, but particularly for those with forms of anxiety that will further amplify the fear of the uncertainty. That’s why our advice is designed to be inclusive of everyone.
Take things at your own pace: This is a big one. Just because the government has reopened various public-facing sectors doesn’t mean you have to leap headfirst into the fray. You can go at whatever pace feels natural to you. If that means you’re the first one in the pub, that’s fine (be safe!), and if it means you’re still getting groceries delivered to your front door, that’s fine too. Never feel pressured to act a certain way.
Support your body with supplements: One of the best ways to look after your mental health is to look after your physical health foremost. Taking key vitamin supplements derived from natural sources is a great way to support a healthy diet and exercise routine! Our recommendation for post-lockdown? We’d suggest using our Relax CBD Drops. They contain lemon balm, well known for promoting a good night’s rest each evening.
Utilise your support network: For some of you it may have been a long time since you last saw friends and family, so don’t forget they’re there for you. Making sure that the people closest to you understand where you’re at mentally and anything you’re finding difficult about lockdown is going to be even more pivotal in the next few months. Your friends and family are close to you for a reason—reach out to them!
Figure out your work needs: With industries slowly beginning to reopen, many people who weren’t key workers are now making their way back to the workplace. What’s important to recognise is that doesn’t mean that you’re obliged to go straight back to a 9-5 Monday-Friday routine. If you want to transition slowly, speak to your line manager about working in splits. The only way you can make progress is through open dialogue.
Make time to decongest: When you’re dashing around trying to get back to normal, it’s easy to forget that normal a lot of the time is sitting down with a cup of tea and the paper. However busy you are, take some time to yourself each day to reflect and cool off. It’s these moments that are what we should really be striving for when we discuss a return to everyday life. It’s a great time to take your CBD oil as well!
At Vitality CBD we always say that CBD should be taken as part of a balanced, healthy lifestyle, which is why we’re taking the time to provide advice or support during this difficult period. If you want any advice, about CBD or otherwise, our team is always on hand to help.
