Exploring Vitality CBD’s Cosmetics

Exploring Vitality CBD’s Cosmetics

Why choose CBD cosmetics?

CBD intake isn’t just limited to vaping and sublingual oils, with many people choosing to take it through their cosmetics. CBD offers a unique and fresh new way to tackle skin care.

First and foremost, our cosmetics are made using either broad spectrum CBD or CBD isolate. That means that the hemp extract is processed to be pure, ensuring there's absolutely no THC.  That means they will never get you high.

If you’ve not read Vitality CBD’s introductory introductory guide to CBD, we recommend that as a starting point, but if you want to learn more about how our Skin Cream and Muscle Balm work, we’re here to help.

Localised, long-lasting skin-care

The main factor that differentiates between each method of CBD consumption is bioavailability. Essentially, a compound’s bioavailability is the amount of it that can be absorbed into your circulatory system, and the rate at which this happens.

The more direct a path to the bloodstream, the higher the bioavailability, hence the use of IV drips in medical emergencies. As discussed in our article on e-liquids, vaping CBD has the highest bioavailability in our product range, due to the number of blood vessels found in the lungs.

By contrast, topically applied CBD will likely never reach the bloodstream, acting instead as targeted support for a specific portion of your skin.

Cosmetics and endocannabinoids

The key to understanding why a reduced bioavailability still makes external CBD application the right choice for you comes in the endocannabinoid system (read our guide to endocannabinoids).

In short, the endocannabinoid system is spread throughout a host of different organs, monitoring your bodily processes and ensuring networks like the nervous system operate correctly. It’s essentially an assistant manager, overseeing certain parameters like temperature without acting directly itself.

The body’s endocannabinoid system is the main means by which cannabinoids like CBD interact with our biology. If the endocannabinoid receptors found throughout the body are the keyholes, then cannabinoids can be seen as the keys.

Accordingly, whilst skin acts as a barrier to the circulatory system, the CBD is still able to interact with and support the endocannabinoid receptors present throughout the skin. Depending on your needs, even though the CBD has a lower bioavailability, this might be the right method for you.

How to apply

Both our Skin Cream and Muscle Balm have a similar method of application: simply massaging them into the affected area for the desired hydrating effect.

This then leads to a subtle onset of the effects of CBD, taking around 60 minutes, and lasting up to 6 hours. Our cosmetics range can be used as frequently as necessary with no adverse side effects from CBD overuse.

Skin Cream or Muscle Balm?

So, now you understand what separates our cosmetics line from the rest of the Vitality CBD range, it’s time to decide whether the Skin Cream or the Muscle Balm is a better fit.

Fortunately, given their different points of focus, this distinction is a little simpler than between our Oral Drops & Oral Spray, or our Whole Plant & Full Spectrum E-liquids. Likewise, to keep the purchase process hassle free, each of our cosmetics range only comes in one iteration.

Vitality CBD’s Skin Cream

As the name suggests, our Skin Cream is designed with everyday skin care in mind. Not only does it utilise 300mg of CBD to support the endocannabinoid receptors found throughout the skin, it also contains a unique blend of moisturising ingredients to ensure the cream works on two fronts.

These ingredients include sweet almond oil, beeswax, ginseng root extract, and chamomile flower extract, all bound together by a natural Green Tea and Lemon fragrance. Throughout our product range we generally foreground CBD and the hemp plant, but our Skin Cream is concerned with a wider balance.

This balance manifests in the potent moisturising effects of each individual ingredient. Sweet almond oil is full of vitamin E, a renowned antioxidant tied to dermatology, whilst beeswax has been noted for its ability to form a protective, breathable layer over damaged skin.

By drawing these disparate but powerful properties together, alongside CBD’s impact, the potency of our Skin Cream’s essential care is amplified.

Vitality CBD’s Muscle Balm

Where our Skin Cream is focused on moisturising and supporting the ongoing care of your skin, Vitality CBD’s Muscle Balm is designed for post-workout relaxation.

Like our Skin Cream, our Muscle Balm contains a cannabinoid rich hemp extract with 300mg of CBD to engage the body’s endocannabinoid system, simultaneously targeting receptors in your skin and muscles.

Vitality CBD’s specially curated Muscle Balm is comprised of an extensively vetted series of ingredients, harnessing an array of organic extracts to further the natural properties of the hemp plant.

For example, the organic coconut oil we use is well known for its conductivity with CBD, and gives our balm its smooth and easy to applicate qualities. This is further enhanced by the blend of other organic oils, including argan, rosehip, geranium, eucalyptus and lavender.

Argan oil particularly is well known for its unsaturated fatty acids, as well as containing more antioxidants per ml than olive oil. Much like the entourage effect utilised in our full spectrum CBD products, the oils in our muscle balm act together to achieve a greater effect than the sum of their parts.
